Introduction
Guess what? When the TV personalities hoot and candidates shout about this election, I turn it off. Luckily, I have great recordings of operas, ballets, chamber music, etc that not only have great feeling, but meaning as well. I also have the weighty books I am given to reading. What is the likely outcome of this tussle?

Stalemate. Nothing but "sound and fury signifying nothing."

Democrats have all but promised to do nothing when elected, saying they will not repeal Banditry. Not the tax cuts, not the war, not the mean spirited Administration and not even the corrupt officials will be changed by this election. What will change is that a different bunch of Conservatives will be sent to Washington from the Bible Belt: Democratic Conservatives instead of Republican Conservatives.

A different selection of politicians will have the joys of putting their hands on the levers of government, distributing largesse to their friends and allies. For a while, those suddenly dispossessed will weep, but after that they will change their clothes, hairdo and makeup. When the New Game arrives in Town, everyone will be ready to play.

What is the Game? Why, fleece the bumpkins, of course. It's as old as the Pharaohs. Don't feel left out: you know how to play, even if you are only a Bumpkin.
